Before we can play Quidditch we have to establish all of the teams. So, if you are interested in Quidditch please ask your House Quidditch Team Captain for tryout dates. Remember, every time a new Term starts you must tryout again to be on the team. This will make it fair to everyone. All tryouts must be over with by October 10 every year. Quidditch practices are held at least once every week, and the dates will be private messaged to all Quidditch players beforehand.
The rules to Quidditch are:
1. You are not a perfect Quidditch player. Keepers can't save every goal, and Beaters can't hit everyone they hit a Bludger towards. Same goes for all of the players. You can't dodge all of the Bludgers that come after you, and you can't make a goal everytime you throw the Quaffle.
2. The match starts when there is at least one player for every position that has "landed" on the field. So that means that the Keeper must be there and the Seeker must be there. Then there must be at least one Chaser and one Beater on the field. We will try to set the dates for Quidditch games at convenient times for all players on the opposing teams, and of course for me.
3. If one of your players is not active for 3 Quidditch practices then you are required to take them off of the team. This counter resets itself once a Quidditch game has been played. So, if your Seeker has been absent for 2 practices, but then you play a game, they don't count once the match is over.
4. Games must last for 40 pages.
5. You can't post something that says "[insert name here] sees the Snitch and catches it." I will say once someone has caught the Snitch.
6. You cannot play for someone else. You can't say things like "[insert name here] threw the Quaffle to [insert name here] and [insert name here] caught it." No. You can say something like "[insert name here] threw the Quaffle to [insert name here] and waits impatiently to see if they will catch it."
7. Interceptions are allowed, but your Chaser must post their scene as they catch it BEFORE the other team's Chaser. If they post it after, the post will be deleted.
8. If you are hit with a Bludger, then you cannot post anything for 2 pages. This does not mean that you can dodge all Bludgers though. Also, if someone threw the Quaffle at you, then you aren't going to catch that, are you?
9. I will say when the match starts. Not you. Not any of your team members. Me.
10. If you are not part of the team YOU CAN'T POST IN A MATCH! I will take away house points and ban you for a set time.
I think that's about it, so please, try out for a Quidditch Team so the season can begin. Quidditch Season officially begins October 11th every year. If you already have all of the members you may begin to practice before October 11th, but no games will be played for quite a while.
Hope the Quidditch Season goes well!
